What if the cache goes down or crashes?
The P2P clients will stop using the cache automatically and continue downloading from other peers as if there were no cache at all.
Clients will try to re-connect to the cache every now and then, usually after a 30-minute timeout.
How does PeerCache determine which content it is going to cache?
PeerCache caches all content passing through it. If the cache exceeds its storage capacity, old and inactive content is automatically deleted to make space for new entries.
Do you offer any source codes/documentation on KaZaA and/or FastTrack protocols?
PeerCache implementation uses only those protocol aspects that are required for finding cache servers and talking to them.
For more technical details related to the FastTrack protocol, KaZaA or other Peer-to-Peer clients please contact respective vendors or owners.
Is the PeerCache source code available?
No, it is proprietary software and its source code is not available.
