Security for both end users and publishers is a top priority for Joltid and is a fundamental part of the PeerEnabler design. Below are answers to common security concerns and clarifications regarding misconceptions about P2P technologies and the P2P Networking component:
This privacy policy explains how Joltid collects, uses, and protects information provided through its software and services.
Joltid Ltd. provides software and manages services that enable high-speed access to content distributed by various partners within the Joltid network. Accessing some content may require separate agreements with those providers. Users may be required to allow limited use of system resources to enable efficient content delivery. Certain data is collected to support and operate the service.
Joltid does not sell, rent, lease, or trade any personal information collected through its software to third parties outside the Joltid network. All information is treated as confidential and is only shared within the network when required and authorized under relevant service agreements.
Users may provide two types of data:
The software itself does not collect Active Information. Any personal data required by specific services is used strictly to deliver those services and communicate related updates.
Passive data may include:
This data is aggregated anonymously and used for service optimization and reporting. In some cases, content identifiers (“Certificates”) are tracked to monitor distribution and may be used for billing purposes.
No unrelated system information is collected. This includes:
Only data necessary for providing the service is processed, and it is not shared externally unless required by agreement.
Personal information is not sold or shared with third parties unless explicitly required under a service agreement. Any sharing occurs only within the Joltid network and with authorized partners.
Collected data is used to:
The software uses system resources such as disk space, bandwidth, and processing power to support content delivery. These resources are shared in a controlled and minimal-impact manner. In some cases, a system may temporarily act as a “supernode,” but this does not affect normal system operation.
Joltid uses industry-standard security measures to protect user data and system resources. Digital certificates ensure only authorized content is shared. Private user data cannot be accessed or distributed through the network. All collected information is stored securely and used in aggregate form only.
The software may be installed alongside other applications or websites. It functions as networking utility software based on peer-to-peer technology. Users are shown license terms before installation and can uninstall the software at any time via Windows Control Panel.
Updates may be applied with user consent for major changes, while minor configuration updates may occur automatically to improve performance.
The software is not intended for users under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from children.
Users can request deletion of personal data by contacting delete@joltid.com. Requests are processed within five working days, though some residual data may remain due to backups.
Unless deletion is requested, data may be retained for up to two years, after which it is automatically removed.
Users are responsible for their own online activity. While efforts are made to protect data, Joltid cannot guarantee absolute security of transmitted information.
